Holiday homes in Ano Korakiana, Corfu
Most of our houses are in Ano Korakiana, and there is a reason we keep coming back to it. It is a real village rather than a resort: children walk to the primary school, the philharmonic band still rehearses, and the two bakeries open early for the people who live here. Nobody is trying to sell you a boat trip.
The village sits on the slopes of Mount Korakio in the centre-north of the island, high enough that the heat breaks in the evening and low enough that you are never far from the sea. Because it is inland and central, you avoid the summer traffic that clogs the single coast roads — and that, more than anything, is what makes it a comfortable base for two weeks rather than two days.

Choosing between them
- For two, Youkali Home and White Sails Cottage are the easiest — comfortable, contained, and quiet.
- For families and groups, Korakiana Cottage, Harmony House, Lily’s House and White Jasmine Cottage all sleep six or more, with terraces and gardens that take the pressure off indoor space.
- For a winter or shoulder-season stay, look first at Korakiana Cottage, St. George Cottage and White Jasmine Cottage.
Good to know
- On foot in the village: two bakeries, a mini market and a café. A ten-minute walk brings you to Agios Markos and its traditional taverna.
- Corfu Town is 15 km away, about 25 minutes by car.
- Both coasts are within a fifteen-minute drive — Barbati and Dassia to the east, Liapades, Rovinia and Paleokastritsa to the west.
- A hire car is strongly recommended. The village is on a hillside, so expect steep lanes, steps and some walking from parking to the door.
- Several of these houses have wood-burning stoves and heating, so the village works out of season as well as in August.
